He closed his eyes as an attempt to control his nerves from blinding his thoughts. This was ‘The day’, the day he had met her, exactly two years back. The day he had met his light. The light which dragged him out of his miserable dark. From that day on, she was everything to him and today he was going to add more life to his feelings for her by asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. He was going to propose her for marriage. He wore a black tuxedo with a white shirt inside and checked his reflection in the mirror. He took a deep breath and took the shining object which was going to show that he meant every single word that came out of his mouth, the ring.
He put the ring into his pocket and left his house. He opened the car and switched the ignition on, ready to go to the love of his life. He drove to her house and saw her standing outside, waiting for him. He had been with her for two years and yet she never ceases to knock the breath out of his lungs each time he saw her. She was wearing a knee length white dress, a shiny stud in her ears, a thin chain around her neck and with a hint of make-up on her face. She looked so beautiful, beautiful enough to make his mind go blank. He drove the car closer, got down and went to her.
“You look beautiful”, he said and was rewarded with a shy smile.
“You don’t look bad yourself”, she replied.
He smiled at her, took her hand and led her to the car. He opened the door and closed it after she seated herself on the passenger seat. He moved to the driver’s seat and drove his way to the restaurant. They had a tasty three course dinner. He couldn’t take his eyes of her during the entire evening. She blushed each time she caught him looking at her and that made him want to look at her more. After dinner, he took her to the beach. A walk along the seashore by holding her hand was all that he needed to confirm his want to be with her, forever. He led her way to the top most floor of the light house. They could see the full moon at its most beautiful view. The view was just perfect for the situation. He felt that it couldn’t be more apt and perfect. He turned to face her and looked into her brown eyes. He bent on his knee, held her hand and said, “This day, two years back I met might my light. The light that gave me all that I’ve ever wanted. I want to stay with it forever, under it’s shelter and love. That light is you. You are the only person that I have ever loved in my life. I cannot pass a second without you. So, please give me the privilege of spending my life with you. Will you marry me sweetheart?”, he finished and held out the shining object. He noticed her eyes turning glossy. She opened her mouth and squeaked out her approval, “Yes!”
